This outlines the methodology of the project, which uses Foucauldian discourse analysis as the theoretical and methodological base for the project, and content analysis as a supporting methodology. The chapter also evaluates the primary sources available to the project, and will question whether sources or questions drive the project. This chapter will consider the impact of technology, particularly the digitising of data, access and usability of archive collections. It will discuss the new resources produced for the project: questionnaires and a large image database.
